About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Dementia Manager (Registered Nurse) to provide clinical leadership and operational management for a specialized Memory Support Cottage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Clinical & Operational Leadership: Oversee the day-to-day supervision, mentoring, and guidance of staff within the Memory Support Unit, fostering evidence-based dementia care approaches.

  • Resident & Family Advocacy: Act as the primary Care Partner and main point of contact for families regarding care updates, changes in condition, and support needs.

  • Quality & Compliance: Monitor quality indicators, manage incidents/feedback, oversee SIRS reporting, and champion continuous Quality Improvement initiatives.

  • People & Culture: Lead staff recruitment, onboarding, training compliance, leave management, and annual performance reviews.

  • Financial Stewardship: Demonstrate a sound understanding of the Cottage budget and contribute to effective resource and consumables management.

  • Environment & Engagement: Ensure the physical environment supports resident safety and comfort, while promoting a robust, evidence-based activities program.

Requirements

  • Qualifications: Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration.

  • Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of clinical experience, with proven recent experience specializing in dementia care.

  • Industry Connection: Demonstrated awareness of and engagement with key aged care dementia-related networks is highly desirable.

  • Leadership Capabilities: Strong emotional intelligence, critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a proven track record of building cohesive teams.

  • Compliance: Strict adherence to the Aged Care Quality Standards and Workplace Health and Safety practices.
